Happy July!
We have just heard that Dr. Richard Scotch will receive the first Distinguished Contributions to the Field Award on Disability and Society from the American Sociological Association. Congratulations to Dr. Scotch for the recognition of his achievement from his peers!
IPE sophomore Addison Larson received a Critical Language Scholarship to study Arabic in Oman! She is continuing our tradition of earning half of the Critical Language Scholarships awarded to students at UTD. Good job, Addison!
MS IPE Student Nancy Bellino was also awarded an internship with the Department of State! She will follow Dan Hinson (MPP) who also was awarded the internship last fall.
Good job everyone!

Good news from our undergraduates!
One
of the most exciting things about being program head is hearing all the good
news from our recent graduates and students.
Three
recent International Political Economy graduates and students shared their
recent placements with me.
Anthoniafred C Okafor is in Washington DC as a
fellow in the Running Start program.
She is working with Senator Ayotte (R-NH).
Dani Litovsky has started working as a
journalist and researcher at Archival Magazine (http://archivalmagazine.com/)
Eileen Daly is working in marketing for Misa
Imports, a multinational corporation that specializes in importing wine from
all the best regions.
Cheers to the three of you! I expect to see more of Antonia in
politics, will follow Dani's writing, and may even drink some of Eileen's
imported wine.
